While one soldier operates the gun, another can keep a lookout for targets. If a command table is built, officers can use the field telephone to activate the new support system, calling in everything from artillery and gas to recon biplanes.Īdditionally, players can make use of the crewable artillery spread throughout the maps once it’s been built by an engineer. To maintain your tactical advantage, the Officer always has something up his sleeve! He can grant the team the possibility of a second wind by blowing his trench whistle to call in a new wave of troops. They also go in-depth on the classes, such as the Engineer, who makes use of the building system to put down barbed wire, sandbags, and heavy weaponry which can be used by the whole team. You can learn more about the development of Isonzo in the game’s dev blogs, as well as features new to the series, such as the new construction system, the Offensive game mode and much more. Highlighted in the trailer is the Dolomites map: this is the fourth map revealed of the six that will be in the game at release: it features the Italians conducting a daring mountain assault on the Sasso di Sesto. Accurately modeled weapons from pistols to sniper rifles, uniforms and sound effects will plunge players into World War I battlefields among the scenic peaks, rugged valleys, and idyllic towns of northern Italy. The brand new class system in Isonzo introduces distinct roles and numerous loadout options to pick from. On these dynamic battlefields, the situation can change at any moment-each challenge needing a different class and strategy. Players participate in key historical moments such as the ferocious battles for the Isonzo river, leading the charge or preparing their defenses across the Italian landscapes.

VERDUN ISONZO SERIES

Isonzo takes the series to the next level and immerses players like never before by offering a unique, historically accurate way to experience the high-altitude battles with the Offensive game mode. This first-person shooter encompasses the southern front, where the Kingdom of Italy and the Austro-Hungarian Empire clashed at deadly heights. Not only are the weapons and uniforms of soldiers from both sides of the conflict rendered with an almost photographic attention to detail, but also the battlefields are modelled on real locations. From the makers of Verdun and Tannenberg… the latest game in the World War I game series seeks to recreate the unforgiving battles of the Great War like never before with authentic warfare in the mountains of the Italian Front. Graphics of Isonzo presents a high quality, but the strongest part of the game is attachment to historical details. Among the available game modes the leading one is Offensive, which is a new module, in which, depending on the selected side of the conflict, we occupy defensive positions and repel enemy attacks, or on the contrary - we take part in the offensive and attack positions where the enemies have dug in. Isonzo is a game designed for multiplayer. The diversity of specialisations means teamwork is key to success. But we can also focus on more refined operations, taking on the role of snipers, mortar operators or engineers who sabotage enemy operations. Nothing prevents you from fighting on the front line, eliminating enemies with small arms, rifles or bayonets.

Our role and equipment determines what weapons we use and what options we have on the battlefield. We take part in battles that include storming mountain fortifications (many of which are located at impressive heights), fighting on the streets of ruined cities and crossing the valley of the river. In Isonzo we observe the action from a first person perspective (FPP). During the game we take sides of the conflict and, as Italian or Austro-Hungarian soldiers, we take part in fights for this territory.

Isonzo takes us to the Italian front of World War I, or more precisely - to the valley of the title river, over which twelve battles were fought in 1915-1917. The game is the result of cooperation between M2H and Blackmill Games and is the third part of the series of first-war shooters launched in 2015, which includes the Verdun and Tannenberg games. Isonzo is a realistic FPS developed for multiplayer, which takes us back to the times of the First World War.
